Behind the Scenes – A viral campaign with sales to match!

During 2019 and 2020 we pulled out all the stops for one of our major clients, Minelab Metal Detectors, to produce three hero brand films for the launch of their new general-purpose metal detector, the Vanquish.

We’ve put together a short behind the scenes film that peels back the curtain on our process. We unpack how we got involved, what was created and the incredible reach and outcome of the campaign. We walk you through how we recreated dark and gloomy, medieval Europe in hot and dry South Australia, for the pièce de résistance of the campaign, Victory Is Mine.

Altogether, these films were a whole company effort and in the end, the campaign went viral, attracting more than 3 million views over six months, spawning a range of fan films, and resulting in tens of thousands of products sold on backorder.

The films were a combination of narrative filmmaking and genuine brand integration and for our small team, it cemented the value of genuine storytelling for brand films and marketing content.
